ROAR School of Ministry & Leadership is a flexible Wesleyan ministry-formation school designed to prepare believers for serious, fruitful service to Christ. Students receive a shared biblical foundation, focused training for their calling, practical ministry experience, and personal mentoring—without requiring every student to begin with a long academic program.

ONE SCHOOL. MANY DOORS. A CLEAR PATH.

Students begin with a concise four-course Common Core and then choose a focused certificate pathway that matches their calling, ministry assignment, or area of needed growth. A student may complete one certificate, stack several certificates over time, or use ROAR formation as preparation for Free Methodist credentialing, specialized ministry training, or accredited higher education where appropriate.

THE ROAR COMMON CORE

Every certificate student shares the same spiritual and theological foundation:

1. Biblical Foundations & How to Study Scripture
   The story of Scripture, faithful interpretation, context, application, and responsible use of the Bible.

2. Spiritual Formation, Prayer & Holy Spirit
   Prayer, Scripture, fasting, holiness, discernment, spiritual gifts, character, and sustainable spiritual rhythms.

3. Wesleyan & Free Methodist Identity
   Grace, holiness, the Free Methodist Way, essential history, connectional life, and the mission of the church.

4. Calling, Character & Christian Leadership
   Calling, servant leadership, integrity, accountability, relationships, stewardship, teamwork, and faithful ministry practice.

FORMATION THAT BECOMES MINISTRY

KNOW • BECOME • DO

KNOW — Understand biblical and ministry foundations. BECOME — Grow in Christlike character and spiritual maturity. DO — Demonstrate practical competency in the student’s chosen area of service.

Most focused cohorts are designed for approximately 8–12 weeks and include four focused learning modules plus practical application. Every certificate includes mentoring and an applied ministry experience, project, practicum, or supervised practice.

STACK YOUR CERTIFICATES

Students may complete one focused certificate or combine several pathways over time. Students seeking greater depth may pursue a ROAR Advanced Ministry Certificate through the Common Core, three focused ROAR certificates, and a supervised capstone or ministry practicum.

ROOTED IN THE WESLEYAN TRADITION

ROAR is rooted in Wesleyan theology, grace, holiness, the Free Methodist Way, Free Methodist history and polity, connectional ministry, justice, mission, and multiplication. When a student’s calling requires denominational credentialing, professional preparation, or accredited study, ROAR helps identify appropriate educational connections within the wider Free Methodist family and other approved accredited settings.

ROAR awards its own ministry-formation certificates. Denominational credentials, endorsements, professional recognition, academic credit, and degrees remain governed and awarded by the organizations authorized to provide them.

SCHOLARSHIP & EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

ROAR is committed to reducing financial barriers to ministry education. We may help qualified students pursue tuition assistance, donor-funded scholarships, grants, denominational resources, and partner support for approved learning opportunities. Funding is not guaranteed and all assistance remains subject to program availability and eligibility requirements.

YOUR ROAR EDUCATION COUNSELOR

Students do not have to navigate their education alone. A ROAR education counselor will help each student clarify their calling, select an appropriate pathway, arrange approved courses, understand formation and practicum expectations, explore educational connections, and pursue available scholarship assistance. Course-provider links, enrollment arrangements, tuition details, and scholarship administration are coordinated directly through the counselor.
